PRESS RELEASE FOR THE WEEK OF November 25 – Dec 1, 2013

11/25 Suicide: Officers and EMS respond to a local trailer court for a report of an individual with a gunshot wound to the chest. MVA Damages: A two car motor vehicle accident occurred at the intersection of Egan and Meals Avenue. Both parties were issued state participant forms. Exploit Minor: Police receive a report of an 18 year old male black mailing a minor to get naked pictures of her. Assist Medical: Officers assist EMS personnel with a confused patient.
11/26 Arrested: Nickolas Mills, DOB 6/3/87, of Valdez was arrested for Felony DUI, Driving While License Revoked, and Remanded for felony probation violation. Vehicle in Ditch: Officers respond to a report of a vehicle off the road near the Glacier Stream Bridge. The vehicle was pulled back onto the roadway, with minimal damage. Disturbance: Officers respond to a report of a possible fight. The subjects were contacted; verbal altercation only. Welfare Check: A concerned neighbor requested a welfare check for his neighbor that hadn’t been seen for a while. Everything was fine. Missing Person: Officers respond to a report of two kids not making it home after the bus had left. The kids showed up at home, just running late. Snow Machine: A minor was warned about driving a snow machine on the roadway without a license.
11/27 Impeding Snow Removal: The owner of a vehicle was asked to park elsewhere so the street could be plowed. Disturbance: A caller reports that there is a man standing by the roadway near Safeway waving a picture of Jesus and a flashlight at traffic. MVA Damages: A two car accident occurred in a parking lot when one car backed into another car. State participant forms were issued to both parties. Theft Property: A caller reports that her firewood had been stolen from her property. Sex Assault of a Minor: The police department is investigating a report of a possible sex assault of a minor. Welfare Check: A concerned mother requested a welfare check on her daughter, who suffers from drug addiction and depression. Welfare Check: Officers perform a welfare check on an individual walking around bare footed with no shirt on.
11/28 Family Issues: Officers respond to a family argument and possible physical altercation. Both parties were separated for the night. Neighbor Issues: An individual reported an altercation with his neighbor that he states is stealing from him. Disturbance: Officers responded to a report of two vehicles spinning out in the elementary school parking lot. The suspect vehicles were gone upon officer’s arrival.
11/29 Arrested: Jesse Wilson, DOB 11/2/84, of Valdez was arrested for Criminal Trespass, Resisting Arrest and Felony probation violation; only hours after being released from prison.
11/30 Traffic Hazard: Officers respond to a report of hazardous driving conditions in Thompson Pass and possible vehicles off the roadway due to snow drifts.
12/01 Vehicle Theft: Officers respond to a report of a stolen vehicle from a private residence. They found the vehicle at a local bar. Arrested: Pete Jorgensen, DOB 1/28/88, of Anchor Point for Vehicle Theft, DUI, Criminal Trespass and Violating Condition of Release on a Homer Ak charge of Assault 4. Criminal Mischief: A caller reports someone throwing a beer bottle at their car and breaking the windshield. Bar Disturbance: A local bar requests assistance with a patron who won’t pay his bill or leave the premises.

On Nov 25 at 7:30 am EMS personnel responded to Simmons Trailer Court for a man that had a self inflicted injury. He was treated on scene and transported to the Providence Valdez Medical Center for further treatment.
On Nov 27 at 5:59 pm EMS personnel responded to a 26 year old female that was ill. The patient was treated on scene and transported to the Providence Valdez Medical Center for further treatment.
On Nov 30 at 12:18 am EMS personnel responded to the jail for a 29 year old man that was injured. He was treated on scene and released to the jailer for incarceration.
On December 1 at 4:06 pm EMS responded to a female that as seizing. The patient was treated on scene and transported to the Providence Valdez Medical Center for further treatment.
