August 25-August 31, 2014

 
Any charges reported in this press release are merely accusations
and the Defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
 
 
8/25
SUSPICIOUS PERSON: Valdez Police received a call of someone
shining a flashlight in their window. Caller called back to report it was
their neighbor chasing a bear.
 
ARRESTED, VCOR; Christian C. McGee, DOB; 7/12/79 of Valdez was
arrested for Violating Conditions Of Release on an outstanding Valdez
case which states he is not to consume alcohol or be where it is sold.
 
SERVE TIME; Jack L. Linn, DOB; 6/10/67 of Glennallen reported to the
Valdez Jail to serve 3 days on a Glennallen case.

MVA-D; A Motor Vehicle Accident with Damage was reported
when a truck clipped a boat trailer while turning a corner. DMV  participation forms were issued.

LOST PROPERTY; Valdez Police received a report of a lost lack
Monfrotto tripod either from the skate park or Ruth pond. If found
please turn into the Valdez Police Dept.
 
FOUND PROPERTY; An Alaska Drivers license was turned into the
Valdez Police dept. To claim please stop by VPD.
 
THEFT; The theft of a Ruger .380 caliber handgun from a vehicle
was reported to The Valdez Police department. If anyone has any
information regarding this incident please contact the Valdez Police
dept.

LOST PROPERTY; The Valdez Police dept. received a report of a lost
HTC 1 cell phone. It was last seen at the Land Sharks bar.
 
LOST PROPERTY; The Valdez Police dept. received a report of a lost
Black tri-fold wallet  and a IPhone 5 with a gold back.
If found please turn into the Valdez Police Dept.
 
 
 
 
8/28
LITTERING; The Valdez Police dept received a report of debris
coming out the back of a dump truck. Officers contacted the driver
who agreed to pick up the debris.
 
MVA- HIT & RUN; A Hit and Run Motor Vehicle Accident in Valdez
Mobile Home trailer park was reported to the Valdez Police dept.
The suspect vehicle was described as a small Aqua or sky blue SUV
with two occupants. If anyone has an information regarding this
incident please contact the Valdez Police dept.
 
8/29
MVA-D; A Motor Vehicle Accident with Damage was reported when a
motorist backed into another vehicle. DMV participation forms were
issued.
 
FRAUD; The Valdez Police dept. received a complaint that the caller
had been receiving automated calls stating that the caller was from the
IRS and requesting they call a number in order to make payment to
satisfy debts to the IRS. Officers called the number and talked with a
man who had a pronounced "Indian" accent. The Valdez Police dept
wants everyone to know these phone calls were scams and not to
return any phone calls you received.
 
SERVE TIME; Scott M Olsowski, DOB; 3/23/92 of Valdez reported to
the Valdez Jail to serve three days on an original charge of DUI.
 
THEFT; The Valdez Police dept received a report that the complainant
was robbed of his backpack containing his Washington State
identification after being assaulted. This case is under investigation.

NOISE DISTURBANCE; The Valdez Police dept. received a complaint
of people being loud in the Pacific Rim Housing area, officers drove
through the area several times and all was quite.
 
POSSIBLE DUI; Valdez Police dispatch received a report from a
local business that an intoxicated man just left driving a white
pick up. Officers immediately responded to the area, but the
vehicle had left the area.
 
ARRESTED, DUI; Darwin E. Krabbenhoft, DOB; 7/01/47 of
Waterford ND was arrested for DUI.
 
ARRESTED, DWLS; Charles W. Julian, DOB 06/04/81 of Valdez
was arrested for Driving With License Suspended when officers
conducted a traffic stop after observing Julian throw a lit cigarette
out the window. Julian was also issued a citation for littering.
 
PARKING; Officers issued a citation to an individual who had   parked on the sidewalk.  When they observed a pick up with a boat trailer parked fully on sidewalk and blocking the sidewalk on South Meals.
 
ARRESTED; Brandon L. Madrid, DOB;12/25/88 of Valdez was
arrested on an outstanding Anchorage warrant for failure to
appear in court.
 
 
8/31
THEFT; Valdez Police dept received a report of a bicycle being
stolen from in front of the Totem Inn, . If anyone has any
information regarding this incident please contact the Valdez Police
dept.
 
ARRESTED, DUI; Jared Nevala, DOB; 09/15/81 of Valdez was
arrested for DUI and Misconduct Involving a Weapon after officers
responded to a complaint that intoxicated individuals were shooting
at a gravel pit. Nevala was stopped by officers leaving the area of
the original complaint.

8-25-14 to 8-31-14
 
8-25-14 Valdez EMS responded to an ill patient that was treated on scene and transported to Providence Valdez Medical Center.

8-25-14 Valdez Fire Department responded to fire alarm activation at Peter Pan Seafood’s. The alarm was investigated, but no fire was in the area.
         
8-26-14 Valdez EMS responded to a patient who was injured in Area I. The patient was treated on scene.

8-26-14 Valdez Fire responded to a request to reset the fire alarm system at Totem Inn.

8-26-14 Valdez EMS responded to patient needing a medical evaluation. The patient was evaluated but no transportation was needed.

8-27-14 Valdez EMS responded to an individual with an injury. The patient refused medical assistance. There was no treatment or transportation.

8-28-14 Valdez EMS responded to request for Public Assistance for an individual needing a change in a bandage.

8-28-14 Valdez EMS responded to a medical request for an individual needing medical assistance. The patient was transported to Providence Valdez Medical Center.
       
8-29-14 Valdez Fire Department was requested to standby during a swan rescue at Mile 6 of the Richardson Highway.

8-29-14 Valdez Fire Department responded to alarm activation at the Valdez Animal Shelter. After an investigation of the area, a system malfunction was the cause of the alarm being activated.
  
8-29-14 Valdez EMS responded to a medivac request.  

8-30-14 Valdez EMS responded to a patient injured with wrist and neck lacerations. The patient was treated on scene and transported to Providence Valdez Medical Center.

8-31-14 Valdez Fire Department responded to an explosion at 10 Mile on the Richardson Highway. There was no evidence of an explosion in the area after an investigation.
