Police And Fire Report
PRESS RELEASE FOR THE WEEK OF December 9 - 15, 2013
Any charges reported in this press release are merely accusations and the Defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
Credit Card Fraud: A caller reported their credit card was used for a purchase being shipped out of state. The company was contacted and the order was cancelled.
Traffic Hazard: Four people were walking on the highway in the dark. Officers were unable to locate anyone matching their description.
Animal Noise: A dog was left outside and barking over a long period of time. Officers responded but were unable to locate the dog.
Animal at Large: A dog was reported at large. Animal Control responded but was unable to locate the dog.
Traffic Hazard: A caller reported a vehicle with no taillights illuminated and almost caused an accident.
Noise Disturbance: A man was yelling at a television and disrupting neighbors. Officers responded and determined the man to be fine.
12/11 Agency Assist: A caller reported a dead moose on the highway. Troopers were notified.
Traffic Complaint: A caller reported a semi passed two vehicles on a corner at high speed. Officers made contact with the driver.
Possible Drunk Driver: A truck was reported to be swerving all over the road. Officers were unable to locate the vehicle.
Arrested: Hope L. Roberts, DOB 08/16/79, of Anchorage was arrested for Domestic Violence Assault 4th Degree.
Theft Info: A package was delivered to the wrong address. The package was then dropped off at the Police Dept and delivered to the correct address.
Disorderly: Officers responded to assist with an individual who was trying to leave the hospital with medical equipment still attached to them.
Traffic Complaint: A vehicle was reported to be driving up and down a road at excessive speeds. Officers were unable to locate a vehicle matching the description.
12/13 Arrested: Cale Harrison, DOB 3/1/84, of Valdez was arrested on a Palmer Bench Warrant for Failure to Comply with Conditions.
MVA with Damage: Officers assisted with a single vehicle roll over. No injuries reported.
DWLR: Danielle Topkok, DOB 8/14/84, of Valdez was served a summons for Driving with a Suspended license.
DWLR: Christopher Wiles, DOB 12/22/74, of Valdez was arrested for Driving with a revoked license.
Trespass: A caller reported an unknown man got into her vehicle after it was started. Officers responded and escorted the intoxicated man back to the police department and then to the hospital.
Public Assist: Officers assisted an individual that ran out of gas.
Arrested: Brian T. Cooper, DOB 11/23/46 of Valdez, was arrested for Disorderly Conduct.
Stop with Pedestrian: Officers contacted an individual and a juvenile and advised them to get home before curfew.

On Dec 9 at 6:44 pm Fire personnel responded to a car fire at Valdez Mobil Home Park space 11. On arrival crews found the occupant of the trailer had extinguished the fire.
On Dec 10 at 11:57 pm EMS personnel assisted a medevac team transport a 52 year old man from Providence Valdez Medical Center to the airport for a flight to Anchorage for further medical treatment.
On Dec 12 at 11:19 am EMS personnel responded to a 58 year old man that was having seizures. The patient was checked and left under the care of his care giver.
On Dec 13 at 8:01 pm Fire and EMS responded to a motor vehicle accident at Mineral Creek Loop Road and the Richardson Highway. The occupants were checked and found to be not injured. Crews returned to quarters.
On Dec 14 at 1:38 am EMS personnel responded to a 37 year old man that had been drinking and was out in the cold. He had hypothermia from the extreme cold weather. The patient was treated on scene and transported to the Providence Valdez Medical Center for further treatment.
