The Valdez Convention & Visitors Bureau is looking to hire an Administrative Assistant and Visitors Information Center Lead.

The Administrative Assistant and Visitor Information Center Lead will report directly to the
Executive Director. The person filling this position is responsible for the daily operations at the
Visitors Information Center as well assisting in the daily coordination in the office.
The person filling this position should have experience in the tourism industry in Valdez and/or
Alaska. In addition they should have experience in office operations, staff coordination and
The typical Administrative Assistant and VIC Lead Attendant job duties include but are not
Disseminate information to travelers on the community of Valdez and the VCVB Members.
Assist visitors that contact VCVB by walking in the door, calling or emailing.
Ensure that Member brochures are properly stocked and ample supplies are on hand. Attendants will contact Members when more supplies are needed.
Coordinate the inventory and ordering of office supplies.
Assist the Executive Director and Communications and Membership Coordinator when
assistance is needed.
Assist in the data entry of lead requests and the distribution of brochures and other mailings. The request to assist will come via the Contract Manager through the VIC Lead.
Assist in the general operations of the office where requested by the VIC Lead.
Assist in the cleaning of the VCVB Office Space, VIC and restrooms.
Coordinate the schedule for all VIC Attendants.
Assist in the training program for VIC Attendants.
Coordinate the registration portion of the Valdez May Day Fly-In.
Manage the inventory and sales of the Valdez CVB t-shirts. Develop a wholesale process to gift
stores around Valdez.This position is a benefited year round position.
