Nadezhda “Nadia” Dmitrievna Perry, 75, of Ash Grove, passed away on Monday, December 19, 2022. She was born on January 15, 1947, to Dmitriy and Claudia Ulasevich in Ivonovo, Russia. On July 8, 1994, Nadia and John E. Perry were united in marriage and shared over 28 years together.

Nadia grew up in Ivonovo and attended University there. She moved to Anadyr Chukotka Russia and was an English teacher and later became the Director of the District Archives. She was an assistant to the Nadezhda International Sled Dog Race also known as, “The Hope Race” between Alaska and Russia. Nadia moved to Alaska to teach Russian and was a translator for the Governor of Alaska. While teaching at the college, she met John and they began their life together. After their children were grown and out of the house, they opened a Bed and Breakfast and Nadia loved every part of it. She enjoyed keeping a clean house and loved meeting people from all over the world. She was a welcoming host and loved cooking for them. Nadia also enjoyed showing off her friend’s artwork that she proudly displayed in her home. She also loved animals of all kinds and could even get a racoon to eat out of her hand, it spoke to her true
kindness. In 2006 Nadia and John moved to Ash Grove. She quickly saw a need in the schools and was a substitute teacher at Bois D’ Arc Elementary and often paid students’ overdrawn lunch balances. Nadia also volunteered at the Sunshine Center working at the desk, in the kitchen, or anywhere else she was needed. She enjoyed spending Tuesday nights there, playing cards, listening to music and dancing. Nadia also worked for the Missouri Court System as an interpreter. She loved to keep busy. Nadia was a wonderful and caring wife, mother, grandmother, friend, and neighbor.

Nadia is survived by her husband, John Perry; children, Michael (Irina) Rudoy, Natalia Rudaia, Derrick (Nell) Perry, Keith (Angee) Perry, Seth (Ashley) Perry; 15 grandchildren; sister, Vera Bogova; other family and many friends.

Nadia was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Valera and Slava Ulasevich.
