Husky Wrestling was back in action this weekend at the annual Palmer Junior Middle School wrestling invitational. Leading the way for the varsity squad was: Jackson Peltier (1st, 174lbs), Logan Beck (2nd, 126lbs), Kaden Vanbuskirk (3rd, 118lbs), Levi Wade (3rd, 114lbs), Rowyn Mayer (4th, 98lbs), Isaac Disney (4th, 140lbs), Bryndi Beck (2nd, 89G lbs), Heidi Francis (3rd, 104.5G), and Jewely Weber (4th, 120Glbs). This was without a doubt our toughest test of the season thus far with lots of great battles throughout the tournament. Memorable wins include Logan Beck’s semifinal win over Daniel Davis of Grace Christian and Jackson Peltiers’s finals victory over Kodiak’s Dale Robertson. Down by 1 point with 11 seconds to go in the bout, Logan was able to convert a double leg takedown at the buzzer for the win. Jackson Peltier was consistent with effort and offense where he was able to score a 2 point reversal in the final period to win a back and forth battle 11-8. Overall, I am very happy with the performance of our team and I am looking forward to our next event in Glennallen February 25th. Go Huskies! See below for all results.
