Valdez, AK – With the resignation of City Manager Mark Detter, the City Council has conducted the search process for a new City Manager. The two finalists are Molly Nichelson-Medjdoub, the Public Information Manager for Orange County, California, and John Parsons Douglas, the Director of Land Use & Topography for the Office of the Brooklyn Borough President in New York City.
The interviewing and selection process for the new City Manager will continue with on- site visits by both candidates on Monday, August 28, and Tuesday, August 29. The process on these days will include several activities, including a community meet-and-greet on Monday, August 28, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at the Kelsey Dock. Food and beverages will be provided. City Manager Candidate Interviews will occur Tuesday, August 29, at 6 p.m. in Council Chambers and are open to the public.
