Our GMS X-C Running team ran strong against nine other schools at our season finale race September 11. The 2.5 kilometer Palmer course challenged runners with slippery conditions and steep hills.

Huskies girls ran first, weaving our blue jerseys through the birch trees and charging the hills. 6th grader, Abby Burns, took 20th place with a time of 15:43. Kristen and Lovisa Fitka were not far behind with times of 16:37 and 16:54. Followed by:
Isabel Cook 17:01
Airoh Smelcer 20:06
Addie Ownbey 20:18
Lexi Passin 20:39
Emily Knowles 22:53

Next, the boys ran a crowded mass start with more than 200 competitors. As the wide grass field narrowed between the golden fall colors, our boys found their pace. James Sanborn worked hard to keep the lead group in his sights, finishing 10th with an impressive time of 13:03. 6th grader, Liam Stark, who has battled pneumonia this season, pushed to 44th place with a time of 14:30. Dylen Agcaoili-Smith crossed the finish line at 14:41, followed by:
Kason St. Amand 16:11
Emmitt Nauta 16:16
