Justin Alexander Hoppe, 49, passed away November 18th, 2024, after a car accident on the Glenn Highway in Alaska. He was born in 1975 to Sherry and David Hoppe in Concord, California.
He grew up with his mother, father, and sister, Sara. Growing up he was mischievous and got into all kinds of trouble, including one story about the mayor’s house and a mud pie. He was a good kid though, played sports throughout his childhood, such as baseball and football. He was a very athletic child, trying different kinds of sports and naturally succeeding at them. Even breaking the Coleman Jr. High high jump. He spent time with his dad working on construction jobs and traveled with his grandparents during the summers. During his teen years he met his future wife Kycha at the mall while he was working at a pizza place. All it took was a single phone call and the rest was the history of their love story. The highschool sweethearts had three children together; Devan, Rylie, and Hunter. Justin loved all three of his daughters and worked hard to make a good life for them and his wife. Together the family moved to Alaska in Valdez where Justin started his career with the Alyeska Pipeline, under the contracted company Houston. Justin worked hard, making friends and connections throughout the town, impacting every person he’s ever met.
He always told the truth and was a strong pillar for the family during hard times. It always seemed like he knew what to do in any situation, and no matter the circumstance made everyone smile and laugh with his charisma and humor. He was a playful man that cared more than anything for his family. His hobbies were enjoyed by all the family, whether it was poetry, drawing, painting, singing, dancing, working out, playing instruments, building skateboard ramps and bookshelves, cooking, and even making wine with his father-in-law leading to him winning awards in Napa Valley California. He also won an award in a golf tournament, continuing his love of sports and athletics. He furthered his education, whether for his own benefit or for work, obtaining certificates for construction, management, and pipe fitting. He was an intelligent and creative man who lived to the fullest and wanted nothing more than his family to be healthy, happy, and to have a closer connection to God. He found God with Kycha at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, and found peace as his relationship with God strengthened.
The memory of Justin lives on in his surviving family members. His wife Kycha and three daughters Devan, Rylie, and Hunter. His two grandchildren; Holden and Hayden. His mother Sherry; younger sister and brother-in-law, Sara and Chad and their children Kain, Kye, and Ariya. His in-laws Richard and Bertha; and his sister-in-law and brother-in-law Alora and Cleo, and their children Matthew, Alfred Jr, and Gabriel.
Justin will be cremated and brought back to his home in Valdez Alaska where he will rest in peace and continue to watch over his family. There will be a memorial at Valdez Civic Center on December 2nd at 6pm. All are welcome to pay their respects and share stories.
“Dad, I love you and I miss you. Wait for us to come home to you.”
