Sources told ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler on Thursday that the Kansas City Chiefs (13-1)  will activate wide receiver Hollywood Brown from injured reserve and play him in Saturday’s game against the Houston Texans (9-5), barring any setbacks. Brown, 27, signed a one-year, $7 million contract with the Chiefs in March after three seasons with the Baltimore Ravens (2019-21) and two seasons with the Arizona Cardinals (2022-23).

ESPN reported that the Chiefs opened Brown’s 21-day practice window last Friday; the wide receiver hasn’t played for the Chiefs since suffering a sternoclavicular injury on the first play of the first preseason game against the Jacksonville Jaguars. He has been on injured reserve since Sept. 13 and underwent surgery and rehab before returning to practice for the first time last week.

Brown caught 51 passes for the Arizona Cardinals last season, with his best season coming in 2021 while with the Baltimore Ravens, when he caught 91 passes for 1,008 yards and six touchdowns. In 72 career games (65 starts), Brown has 313 catches for 3,644 yards and 28 touchdowns.
