VHS is dedicating a day to career exploration and practicing professionalism on Thursday, April 17 with the Valdez High School College & Career Fair. 28 local businesses, 10 colleges, 3 trade schools, 10 state and national organizations, and 6 military branches are projected to be represented at the event, including the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), ConocoPhillips, and Idaho State University. Senator Lisa Murkowski will also be in attendance to give a student assembly about her career trajectory, valuable lessons she learned in high school, and the projected job market in Alaska over the next 5-10 years. VHS students will have the opportunity to participate in a Mock Interview, submit a resume, and dress professionally as part of the College & Career Program spearheaded by Dr. Morgan Melton.
