Courtesy of VHS Coaches – The Valdez High school and Middle School Ski team had their first race of the year last weekend at the Government Peak Recreation Area in Palmer.
The Buccaneers competed in a 5k skate race Friday and a 3.5k classic race Saturday. I’m proud of the level of mental toughness shown by all the skiers this weekend. Overcoming obstacles such
as cold temperatures, travel frustrations, and unknown ski courses. For most of our skiers this was their first Nordic ski race. They skied hard and
